The Energy Class evaluates efficiency, endurance, precision and racing performance through a combination of timed laps, technical courses and one-on-one duels, all on standardised catamaran hulls supplied by the Yacht Club de Monaco.
Timed laps identify the fastest boats and set the pairings for the Championship race.
Teams complete as many laps as possible within the allocated time.
Boats complete a slalom course in the fastest possible time while avoiding penalties.
A head-to-head format where two boats race directly to finish their course first.
The on-water programme also includes sea trials and the opening parade, a full framework where technologies are tested under real conditions at sea.
